A Website Design Checklist

A Web Site Design Checklist

Website design is a significant function of the website. It is the basis of the website development and publication. The web designer must be a creative person who can design a web site that is aesthetically pleasing to look at and plan a site that is functional and easy for your viewers to use.

Before meeting with your design team, it is best if you take the time to answer a few questions for yourself so that you and the designer will be working in the same direction. It will save you time and money and you will have a better web site design as a result.

You can use this as a checklist for your website design process:

•Do you need a web site? •Why do you need a web site? •What is its function of your website? •Is it business to business? •Is it a business to consumer web site? •Is it a commerce site? •Is it an information site? •Who will use your web site? •Who is your audience? How will they use it? •What is needed on your web site? •What is wanted on your site? •Who is your competition? •What do they do right? •What do they do wrong? •Do they have a web site? •What is their web site design? •What information needs to be presented? •What do you do that is unique or rare? •Do you have information that you would like to send to your interested visitors? •Should there be a place to sign up on your web site for newsletters or sales? •Who will write your content? •Do you need a database?

Your design team should take this information and do a web site design that will be attractive and easy and intuitive to navigate. The success of your goals will depend upon this.
